Get Smurf-ifed

I am a fan of The Smurf. What’s there not to like?

They are blue. They are three-apple-tall. They are from Europe. They live in mushroom houses. They are the one of the cutest creatures ever created.

The Smurf is celebrating their 50th year anniversary this year. Certainly brings back good old memories when we have to fight over battered and old comic strips.

The Smurfs (originally Les Schtroumpfs in French) are a group of fictional characters who live in the woods, created by Pierre Culliford aka Peyo from Belgium.

In this exceptional case I opt for a more or less deviant opinion. When our kids were still really small kids, these Smurfs have been flooding our household. They everywhere and they were around always. Moreover we had this horrible song, the “Smurfenlied”, by a man called “Vader Abraham” which accompanied them on the telly. The singer got rich and this parent by and by has gone crazy.

Well, it is a long time ago and I forgive him now. And, eh, okay, I have to admit that these creatures do look cute.

I remember the first time we had a television… I was about 9 years old. The TV was in black & white. It had shows like the Smurfs and Mickey Mouse from the “cool” western world, played in Chinese.
Imagine watching cartoons in black & white.
