In ‘67, a month after our daughter Britt had been born, and immediately after the album had been released, my Swedish (girl) friends Kirsten and Britt ( the one who inspired my baby daughter’s Scandinavian name,) came to visit us and brought a present: “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” – the most famous and the best of all Beatles’ albums. Ringo Starr, drummer. Not a singer. Although, we had heard his vocals in “A Yellow Submarine…”

Now, 2008, he still is not a singer. But who cares. At least he’s still here. John Lennon is not. And neither is George Harrison.

Wow, the sixties were great; the young Rolling Stones, the young Bob Dylan, the young Janis Joplin – this, at that time still young, (almost)grandpa sighs reminiscing .
